The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
